Labour’s Kensal Green Councillors – Championing residents views on traffic and parking

We, Jumbo Chan, Claudia Hector and Matt Kelcher, Labour’s Councillors for Kensal Green believe that local people know what is best for their areas and should have a major say in how council services are delivered in their street.  We apply this principle across the Kensal Green ward, which stretches from the Jubilee Clock Tower to College Road.

For example, we have supported a group of residents, who live near the high street, to design a new one-way system to relieve traffic congestion and blockages.  This is now in place around Park Parade and has been welcomed by many local people.  The one-way system will also allow the council to remove passing points, and we will ensure they become new residents’ bays, in response to local demand.

We have also helped to bring together the Kensal Green Residents Association to lobby for a better deal for streets around the tube station.  As a result, a consultation will begin in January on new parking rules which will make it easier for friends and family to visit, whilst protecting spaces during the busy Carnival season.
